SMART stands for Self Management and Recovery Training. SMART recovery offers face to face and online support groups to help, people recover from any addictive behaviour. It is based on a four point programme providing you with tools, techniques and strategies that can help you build and maintain motivation; cope with urges; manage thoughts, feelings and behaviours; and live a balanced life. It advocates choice, so that those recovering can choose what works best for them from a “tool Box” of methods and approaches used at meetings. Aberdeen in Recovery hold a peer led SMART Recovery meeting every Thursday from 10.30-12.00 at Air Community Rooms, Elim Church, 50 Marischal Street.
